Meet the instructor
Greg Rinder hails from the charming town of Chatham, NJ, a place rich in hockey history despite its small size. Greg's own hockey journey began on the number one ranked high school team in New Jersey during his junior and senior years. After a successful stint as a player, Greg returned to his roots to coach in the very program that shaped his love for the game.
In his inaugural coaching season, the Varsity team clinched the state tournament title, and the JV team boasted an impressive undefeated record of 22-0, securing victory in their league tournament. Greg's coaching career commenced in 2010 as a skills instructor and lead coach for summer camps. That same summer, he collaborated with Jeff Serowik in the renowned Pro Ambitions camp.
Greg's expertise as a skills instructor spans a broad spectrum, working with players ranging from beginners to professionals. His coaching repertoire extends from Mites to American Junior levels in the USPHL, coaching at both the Elite and Premier tiers. With additional roles as a scout, player advisor, and holding a USA Hockey level 4 coaching certification, Greg brings a wealth of knowledge to the ice.
In 2019, Greg joined STS Hockey at Boch Rink in Dedham, where he refined his skills under the tutelage of the Shot Doctor. Thriving as an instructor, Greg quickly established rapport with the players he mentored. Greg's extensive background uniquely positions him to focus on individual skill development.
Having recently relocated for work, Greg is excited to bring his coaching prowess to the Jr. Crusaders, driven by his genuine passion for coaching and helping others. Beyond the rink, Greg is pursuing a degree in mental health counseling, aligning with his life's purpose. In the summer months, you'll find him indulging in his other passion – playing golf.
